As I promised last night, there was a reason I posted Tyler Stout’s gorgeous LOST poster. I’m very happy to present you all with another Fuckyeahlost interview, this time with Mr. Stout himself, where he discusses the show, his involvement with the Damoncarltonandapolarbear art series, the importance of brushing your gums and how he’d like the show to end with Sayid killing Charles Widmore with his mind. First of all, introduce yourself! Who are you, what do you do, and where can we find you on the interweb?
sure, my name is tyler stout. i am a freelance illustrator. my website is tstout.com.

Now, let’s talk about LOST! How did you get into the show? Did it click right away, and if not what was it that made that click happen?
i actually didn’t start watching til season 2, then i had heard enough good things about it to make me watch season 1, which i watched over a weekend and really enjoyed.

How did you get in touch with Darlton for the art project? What information did they give you to make the poster?
they contacted me, jensen of gallery1988 contacted me i should say, he was my main contact, i never talked directly to anyone else. and information, they just said they wanted a poster that kinda summed up the show, while focusing on the first and second season.

Were you shocked by anything they told you to include in your poster?
of making the poster? probably when they were like ‘add Daniel Faraday’ and i was like ‘what??! he’s from the fourth season, wtf.’ but then i added him.

Have you ever had a theory that seemed crazy at the time but turned out to be true?
do you mean regarding the show? or in real life? because regarding the show…no, i don’t think so. i assumed aliens were involved somehow and that has not proven to be true that i know of. in real life, yes. i’ve always thought brushing your gums was more important than brushing the teeth part of your teeth, and turns out, that is completely true.

Favorite character and why? Least favorite character and why?
i like hurley because he’s too nice to die. and he seems like a nice guy in real life from reading his blog etc. least favorite character…probably jack, since he finally got together with kate and then blew it all with his drinking, i was very disappointed in him.

Favorite season and/or episode and why? Least favorite season and/or episode and why?
favorite episode…tough one. probably the first episode of either season 1 or season 2. least favorite episode…the episode where jack and kate get together then jack starts drinking, that really bothered me.

What moment made you the happiest?
i like the times when the characters all seem to be getting along and are safe and not plotting against each other, like when hurley’s listening to music or driving around in the vw bus, or they’re playing golf. just relaxing, that is a nice happy moment.

Which characters death hit you the hardest?
i was not pleased to see charlie go, that was very sad.

What has been your favorite part of the entire experience of the show?
i like the history and world they’ve created that takes place before the show starts, just the whole idea of the dharma initiative is cool. i like the sprawling grand ideas that it explores.

What would be the perfect way for the show to end in your opinion?
perfect way….hmm…well it’d be nice if jack and kate got back together. plus have it not be some sort of ‘it was all a dream’ sorta ending, instead have it be something that like changes the entire world, and everyone in the world knows about these crash survivors and they’re heroes and stuff. plus have the smoke monster come out and start killing all these soldiers who land on the beach, and jack controls the smoke monster. that would be pretty amazing. then they turn all of america into the island with millions of smoke monsters and polar bears running riot, and locke becomes president, with ben his vice president. and they’re like ‘lets fix this’. and they work together. and sayid kills charles widmore with his mind. the end.
